R. Wayne Bowman, M.D., holds the Irene Wadel and Robert I. Atha, Jr. Professorship of Ophthalmology. Dr. Bowman received his medical degree from and performed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Medicine. He completed a residency in ophthalmology as well as one in internal medicine at the University of Missouri-Columbia, School of Medicine, where he was recognized for Outstanding Achievement as a resident.
Dr. Bowman’s specialty fellowship training in cornea and external disease was performed at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. He is a member of the American Board of Opthalmology and has been selected as one of "Best Doctors in Dallas" by D Magazine.
